questions about function

 i try to do a  function , like udf 

this is my code

the  questions   is  ,why  when i  use   $risultato =  _Read_canc_1_riga($variable,1)  , my result  is  0 ?? and  not  a  readline?

You don't return the read line from the function, you read it into a local variable, but you don't do anything with that variable. The only Return you use is if you can't open the file after the MsgBox line in your function.

BTW, can you PLEASE run Tidy on your scripts? That's so messy and hard to read the way it is now.
