Fasligand Posted January 20, 2015 Share Posted January 20, 2015 Hello, I am new to AutoIt, but have been scouring several searches to find a solution for how to have users input an e-mail address and then use it later, something like a Send command. Here is my code: #include <ButtonConstants.au3> #include <EditConstants.au3> #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #include <WindowsConstants.au3> #Region ### START Koda GUI section ### Form= Global $Form1 = GUICreate("E-mail Address", 263, 75, 192, 124) Global $Input1 = GUICtrlCreateInput("", 8, 8, 241, 21) Global $Ok = GUICtrlCreateButton("Ok", 8, 32, 241, 33) GUISetState(@SW_SHOW) #EndRegion ### END Koda GUI section ### While 1 $nMsg = GUIGetMsg() Switch $nMsg Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit Case $Input1 ;BlockInput(1) WinActivate ( "Lightroom" ) Sleep(1000) Send("^+E") Sleep(1000) Send("{ENTER}") ControlClick ( "Microsoft Outlook - 1 Photo", "", "[CLASS:Edit; INSTANCE:1]" ) Sleep(1000) GUICtrlRead($Input1) ;BlockInput(0) EndSwitch WEnd At the line: GUICtrlRead($Input1), why doesn't the input I provided when I tested get utilized? Forgive me if I'm missing something simple here.... fasligand Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BrewManNH Posted January 20, 2015 Share Posted January 20, 2015 It's not utilized because you don't make it do anything other than read from the input control, you have no code that takes what's in the control and uses it somewhere, you're just reading from it. Also, using $input1 as a GUI message trigger is a very bad idea, you should create a button that you have to press AFTER you've put something into the input control and use that to do something in your script. BTW, if you're trying to use Outlook with your script, there's an Outlook UDF that will help with that that would eliminate the ControlClicks and Sends you're using now. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day.
