Get exe file from file extention

I have been looking for a way to use autoit the extract the full path of what a file opens with by default.

For example:

If i was to use C:FileTest.txt It would return C:windowsnotepad.exe or

If i was to use C:FileFiles.7z It would return C:windowsnotepad.exe or where ever 7 zip was installed.

I have tried using regedit to find what exe opens that file extension, but no luck. I have also tried using various UDF's and yes i have looked in the help file.

Does anyone know how i could do this.

I didn't say the question wasn't legit. Just wanted to know what the OP tries to achieve. When we know the goal it is much easier to suggest a solution.

Thanks i have solved the problem with  _WinAPI_AssocQueryString()

For future readers the solution was:

#include <APIRegConstants.au3>
#include <WinAPIReg.au3>

Local $sExt = '.au3'
ConsoleWrite('Icon: ' & _WinAPI_AssocQueryString($sExt, $ASSOCSTR_DEFAULTICON) & @CRLF)
