AutID
So I have some images in my script that represent buttons. images, etc... My problem that they have to be included with the exe so it runs properly. But the users of this project may change directory, delete the pics or whatever else and they will ruin it. So is there a way to load the picture within the script and save it in there? I am not talking about FileInstall but something similar. Something that will keep the images within the script without having to save them in some directory. Or is there any other easier solution? https://iblockify.wordpress.com/
BrewManNH
FileInstall will put the files where you tell it to, every time the exe is run. So, even if the users delete the files, the program will recopy them when they run it. If that's not sufficient, look for the Resources UDF in the Example scripts forum. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. step887
You could use UEZ's method '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>
UEZ
A couple of possibilities to get images into a compiled .exe: 1. FileInstall. This places a copy of a file in your .exe which you can load onto the user's machine and then use from within your script. Read the Help file carefully and search for the many forum threads. 2. Zedna's Resources UDF (here) or guinness' more advanced ResourcesEx UDF (here). These are more complicated to use, but allow you to use files stored in your .exe without having to copy them onto the user's machine. It requires more effort from the coder to get everything into the .exe, but does have the advantage of not having to load files onto a new machine - everything is self-contained. If you want to use this you MUST read the threads carefully and try out the examples - the UDFs are not difficult to use, but if you do not take the trouble to learn how to use them properly, you will have problems. 3. AutID
File to Base64 String Code Generator Best and easiest solution I could get for the images. + the tool you provide with makes it easier than ever. I will try Resources.au3 and RecourcesEx.au3 as well. Seems a lot promising. Thanks everyone! https://iblockify.wordpress.com/
gwinter
Could anyone post a link to the "BinaryToAu3Kompressor"? I can't find it anywhere on the internet, and most of the links to anything on this site are dead years ago.
