junkew
To understand that you have to spend years studying http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms644950(v=vs.85).aspx and a starter on WM_xxx messages http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms644927(v=vs.85).aspx#system_defined Its much easier to use AutoIT commands or the IUIAutomationCore.DLL of Microsoft '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Luigi 1 FAQ 31 How to click some elements, FAQ 40 Test automation with AutoIt, Multithreading CLR .NET Powershell CMDLets
Luigi
@BrewManNH, thanks for your reply, what I would say is that I would like to further investigate this issue. I have idea / an impression that the answer is WMI, but I am not content with just that ... I want to go beyond just take the result of a ready function, I want to understand something more. Sorry for my English, I know it is bad, but even so, I do not give up. Sometime the google translator not say everthing. My first ideia about how one would handle is captured by calculating their position relative to the mouse, something like if x's mouse >= x's control and x's mouse <= (x's control + width) and the same think to y axis, so you have a handle control! The idea, at first moment, it seems correctly, but, with many controls? I think not... The next idea was: WMI! So I'm curious ... how does this happen? @junkew, thank you, I read it. junkew
WindowFromPoint function uses WM_NCHITTEST as a direction for you to google on. and in AutoIT you could register those messages to be catched (read help on GUIRegisterMSG) GUIRegisterMsg($WM_NCHITTEST, "WM_NCHITTEST") Func WM_NCHITTEST($hWnd, $iMsg, $iwParam, $ilParam) If ($hWnd = $hForm) And ($iMsg = $WM_NCHITTEST) Then Return $HTCAPTIONEndFunc ;==>WM_NCHITTEST I certainly doubt if you really want to understand but concepts like this can be studied in WINE (unless you have access to microsoft sources) http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/blob/HEAD:/dlls/user32/winpos.c FAQ 31 How to click some elements, FAQ 40 Test automation with AutoIt, Multithreading CLR .NET Powershell CMDLets
