DXRW4E
#include <Array.au3> Local $a2DArray[2][4] = [[1,2,3,4],[5,6,7,8]] _ArrayDisplay($a2DArray) ReDim $a2DArray[4][4] ;; clear all ?? _ArrayDisplay($a2DArray) exit it seems a bug ?????? BrewManNH
It seems to have worked that way since at least 3.3.8.1, which is the earliest version I have installed. It will only clear the array when the dimension count changes, not when the number of rows or columns changes. Seems like something I should have noticed myself a long time ago, because it would have eliminated me having to try and create a function that adds/removes columns in an array while keeping the contents. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. DXRW4E
in 3.3.12.0 is all Ok, however I noticed that even using the Local $a2DArray[1000000][4], $fTimerDiff $fTimerDiff = TimerInit() ReDim $a2DArray[1000000][4] $fTimerDiff = TimerDiff($fTimerDiff) MsgBox(0, 0, $fTimerDiff) costs time, it seems that do not run a check before, I think it would be helpful in cases of large arrays Ciao. Moderators Melba23 Posted August 7, 2014 Moderators Share Posted August 7, 2014 Jon,In 3.3.13.15 ReDim is clearing the array when resizing - all previous releases have left the existing data intact unless the number of dimensions was changed. A short example:#include <Array.au3> Global $avArray[2][2] = [[1, 2], [3, 4]] _ArrayDisplay($avArray, "Before", Default, 8) ReDim $avArray[2][3] _ArrayDisplay($avArray, "Before", Default, 8) ; Empty array of correct sizeThis is massively script-breaking - for example most of the Array library is broken. BrewManNH
I just realized the beta version I had installed was an earlier version, which is why it didn't clear the array for me. Time to update the beta version again. :S If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise.
