Moderators Melba23 Posted July 27, 2014 Moderators Share Posted July 27, 2014 Jon, So far, so good. If you are still in the mood, how hard would #2629 be to implement? We currently have 3 UDFs floating around which allow it, but it would be so much better in core code as then it would be universal and not dependent on which UDF you used. jchd
Jon, I don't want to file a ticket for this minor inconsistency: a binary mode FileRead returns an empty String when reading an empty file. It should return a zero-length Binary instead. Of course the contents are the same but if the result if fed to a function whose behavior depends on input type it can silently cause wrong results. Moderators Melba23 Posted July 27, 2014 Moderators Share Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) Jon, I'm not going near the gui code...I seem to remember a thread from long ago when it was stated that the core code has certain sections marked: ">Here be dragons" or something similar, so I quite understand. Zedna
I saw some propositions to Jon for looking at specific trac tickets (in previous beta topics), so I add one simple feature request from me which should be very simple to add: Add native FileSetEnd() based on _WinAPI_SetEndOfFile() http://www.autoitscript.com/trac/autoit/ticket/2346 Jon, sorry if this is inadequate way to bring your attention ;-) Edited July 27, 2014 by Zedna Resources UDF ResourcesEx UDF AutoIt Forum Search
