needhelpplease12 Posted July 7, 2014 Share Posted July 7, 2014 (edited) I have a string that looks like this: 2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2, 2,0,0,4,0,1,0,0,0,0,0,3,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,2, 1,0,0,0,6,0,0,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,6,0,0,0,0,2, 1,2,2,2,2,3,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,1,1,2,2 This is just an example, the numbers can be different, but they are always separated by a comma. I want to traverse the string and decrease each number by 1, so the first line would look like this then: 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1, [...] A simple loop over the string doesn't seem to work because the numbers can have more than one digit... Anyway that doesn't matter much. (I shall add that it only works for positive numbers, but that's not a problem at all because I only have those.)
