Clipboard - store and restore - HowTo ?

What I need to do, is something like this:

If I understand your question;

you could just save the contents of the clipboard to a temp file and restore from there.

But what if you copy file in explorer?

I think you could do something like.

 

If you clippboard has a files

C:file1.exe

C:file2.exe

you save them.

then you read the temp file. if that tow files existe if ctl+v is over a explorer handle paste them.

I think it is.

If you press PrintScreen button then Copy text, you can paste text to notepad but cannot past the image to paint.

Yes it is. The clipboard holds only one thing at a time. That is why there is so many clipboard history/manager type programs out there. Several have been written here by AutoIt forum members, they are available in the Example Scripts section I'm sure. Basically they all do the same thing; copy or cut something to the clipboard then store that something in a variable, then do the same thing over and over, just with a new variable each time. When pasting, a chosen variable is copied back to the clipboard and then pasted.

Well I just briefly looked thru the Example Scripts forum and I couldn't find any. I only glanced at the first 2 or 3 pages of the search results though. To be fair, I shouldn't have made such a direct statement without being perfectly sure. I swear I've seen 1 or 2 of that kind of script in that section, or maybe I'm just thinking of several posts with that kind of question/answer during the short time (well, > 10 years) I've been a member here.

Here is a script that I wrote way back when I was but weeks into AutoIt and not very good at it (I'm still that same way pretty much    ) I was just thrilled with this simple little script . Anyway, I'm just posting it to describe most of what I said earlier. Maybe this code will help someone (it may show them the way not to code..) I used it to copy three pieces of text off a webpage and put it into the correct fields of another program. At first I was using ClipPut the same way I was using ClipGet. Then I changed that part to ControlSend. I started to even more. Now, in a somewhat similar and what I consider more advanced version of this script, I'm using several of the IE functions.
