MacScript Posted June 21, 2014 Share Posted June 21, 2014 (edited) Hi all I am new to Autoit, I just created a GUI with a GUICtrlCreateEdit on a tab. The issue is that I need to change the color of the text often with in this edit field. So for instance every other line could be red, blue, red, blue. (in the future might want to adjust the font size of line 1 to 10 and line 2 to 8) However I been told the only way to do this is by using a rich Text field. So far I have not been able to make Rich text field become transparent (see through, no background). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Edited June 21, 2014 by Maclotro Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MacScript Posted June 22, 2014 Author Share Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) Well I figured out how to do this. I am do not believe it is the best solution so any suggestions would be appreciated. On the tab that has the Rich edit field I also did a GUICtrlCreateEdit so that it would act as the background to the richedit field that has the style of : $WS_EX_TRANSPARENT. Below is my code that I created so far. This code is just my testing code to figure out how to do perform a specifc task. expandcollapse popup; Credit for soem of this script comes from :http://www.autoitscript.com/wiki/Tabs #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #Include <GuiButton.au3> #include <GuiRichEdit.au3> #include <FileConstants.au3> #include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #include <GUIImageList.au3> #include <GUIListView.au3> ; Might be able to be removed #include <GUIMenu.au3> #include <GUIStatusBar.au3> ; Might be able to be removed #include <WindowsConstants.au3> #include <GuiEdit.au3> #include <GuiComboBox.au3> #Include <ScrollBarConstants.au3> #include <StaticConstants.au3> #include <GuiTab.au3> #include <GuiRichEdit.au3> ; added to have different colors in the input field $style1 = BitXOr($WS_POPUP, $WS_EX_LAYERED) $style2 = BitOR($WS_EX_LAYERED,$WS_EX_TOOLWINDOW,$WS_EX_TOPMOST,$WS_EX_LAYERED) ;goodone ;Popup/Transparent view $hGUI = GUICreate("Tabs with RichEdit transparent field", 500, 500, -1, -1, $style1, $style2) $hTab = GUICtrlCreateTab(10, 10, 480, 480) ; Create tabitems ;left, top, width, hieth GUICtrlCreateTabItem("Plain CreateEdit Field") Global $Input = GUICtrlCreateEdit("", 20, 40, 460, 400, $WS_VSCROLL) GUICtrlSetFont ($Input, 12, 800, "verdana") ;Change Font Size to 12 GUICtrlSetBkColor($Input, 0xABCDEF) GUICtrlSetColor($Input, $COLOR_Green) GUICtrlSetResizing(-1, 802) GUICtrlCreateTabItem("Richtext Field" ) ; this input field is only here as a background for the Richedit feild so it can be considered fully transparent/ see-through Global $Input2 = GUICtrlCreateEdit("", 20, 40, 460, 400, $WS_VSCROLL) GUICtrlSetFont ($Input2, 12, 800, "verdana") ;Change Font Size to 12 GUICtrlSetBkColor($Input2, 0xABCDEF) GUICtrlSetColor($Input2, $COLOR_Green) GUICtrlSetResizing(-1, 802) $hRichEdit = _GUICtrlRichEdit_Create($hGui, "", 20,40,460,400, BitOR($ES_MULTILINE, $WS_VSCROLL, $ES_AUTOVSCROLL), $WS_EX_TRANSPARENT) _GUICtrlRichEdit_AppendText($hRichEdit, @CRLF & "This is more text") ; Hide the controls initially ControlHide($hGUI, "", $hRichEdit) GUICtrlCreateTabItem("") _WinAPI_SetLayeredWindowAttributes($hGUI, 0xABCDEF, 255) GUISetBkColor(0xABCDEF) GUISetState(@SW_SHOW, $hGUI) ; Makes GUI Visible ; This is the current active tab $iLastTab = 0 While 1 Switch GUIGetMsg() Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit Case $hTab ; Check which Tab is active $iCurrTab = GUICtrlRead($hTab) ; If the Tab has changed If $iCurrTab <> $iLastTab Then ; Show/Hide controls as required Switch $iCurrTab Case 0 ControlHide($hGUI, "", $hRichEdit) Case 1 ControlShow($hGUI, "", $hRichEdit) EndSwitch ; Store the value for future comparisons $iLastTab = $iCurrTab EndIf EndSwitch WEnd Edited June 22, 2014 by MacScript mLipok 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
