Create a Rich text Field that is Transparent and on a tab

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I am new to Autoit, I just created a GUI with a GUICtrlCreateEdit on a tab. The issue is that I need to change the color of the text often with in this edit field. So for instance every other line could be red, blue, red, blue.  (in the future might want to adjust the font size of line 1 to 10 and line 2 to 8)  However I been told the only way to do this is by using a rich Text field. So far I have not been able to make  Rich text field become transparent (see through, no background).  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Well I figured out how to do this. I am do not believe it is the best solution so any suggestions would be appreciated.

On the tab that has the Rich edit field I also did a GUICtrlCreateEdit so that it would act as the background to the richedit field that has the style of : $WS_EX_TRANSPARENT.

Below is my code that I created so far. This code is just my testing code to figure out how to do perform a specifc task.
