Different IDE available?

Recommended Posts

I'm finding SciTE very aggravating to use... it seems to fight me on most things. Spacing, auto-tabing, removing auto-tabs, adding a single space after a tab on some lines but not others, indenting an if statement with too many indents, etc. The search box is frustrating too; no "next" button when searching for a keyword that may be repeated. SciTE just seems to do the wrong thing on most occasions. (not sure why it was picked as the default editor... i know it's a small footprint editor, but surely others could integrate just as well and provide a better user experience?)

Overall, SciTE is just not a great editor.

Is there another editor that the community prefers? Maybe an Eclipse plugin or something? I've looked, but hoping I missed something.

Attempting to accomplish 1 of 2 things:

1) Change to a different editor but retain auto-complete

2) Fix SciTE so it doesn't fight me

Anyone have any tips?
