Editing PDFs in a GUI (ActiveX?)

I've been looking into modifying and integrating an autoit script while leveraging some of the adobe markup features.

This is the code I've been using (I would link the original article if I could find it again):

The problem I'm having with this script is that the adobe toolbar doesn't show up automatically. You have to click the little adobe button. I'm not really familiar with ActiveX, but I'm wondering if there is a way to get autoit to hit that control after it pops up.

Anyone have suggestions?

what product you are using:
or Acrobat Standard?
or Acrobat Profesional?
or Acrobat Reader?

I'm using adobe standard. I'm not sure I understand what you mean though. 

Would I do something like this:

GUICtrlSetStyle($GUI_ActiveX,"SetShowToolbar=True")

I've also notice another issue.. It appears that when I'm doing this, I cannot use the annotation tools (after I hit the Adobe button and they show up). Any idea what is causing that to be blocked? (The comment and sign tools)

EDIT: I think I figured out what is causing this (No idea how to fix it though). When I try to use "Sign" --> "Place initials" it says "To electronically sign this document or place initials, please save a copy of the document to your desktop". Even if I save it, it still will not let me sign or mark it up.

you create object:

$oPDF = ObjCreate("AcroPDF.PDF.1");

after this you open a source file:

$oPDF.src="C:\Users\Arudolph\Desktop\reportexample.pdf" ;PDF FILE 1

its mean load pdf file to the object.

I do not read the doc for Acrobat but I suppose this is property I mean "SetShowToolbar" is a property

so, now you can use:
 

$oPDF.SetShowToolbar = True

such a little simple explanation, but I think that will help you understand the essence of ActiveX programming.

And in case anyone is wondering, Adobe purposefully disabled the annotation functions for activeX... CURSE YOU ADOBE!

I might just use an image editor... anyone know a good activex .tif editor?

What you exactly want to do with this TIFF image ?

Basically what I'm trying to do is hook the output of a scan system (Tiff or PDF outputs) into a viewer that can mark up the files and reroute them to specific mailboxes (file system).

I need to be able to add to text/notes to the image. I'd like to do it from the same GUI (I have a query tool that can be used to get lookup info, such as department name and what boxes belong to what systems/depts), which is why I've been looking into the activeX stuff.
