Yes, I used the installer and followed the process as to the online instructions (sequence). Also tried to reinstall AutoIt and then SciTE again.
I also noticed that when runing SciTE config then change the colour settings and press Save+Apply it provides the feedback that it did apply the changes. On exit it askes again to save the changes - whithout any additional changes applied.
 
I temporarily reverted back to SciTE Version 3.3.7 - which worked.
 
However I just installed it again and here the top section of the install.log out of the SciTE dir after the installation of 3.4.1. I can sent you the entire log if of any use.

SciTE installation apparently copied and created all necessary files for the admin user only under

C:UserssteinAppDataLocalAutoIt v3SciTE

So nothing is being copied or created for the current  non admin user when startng to use SciTE .

Perhaps you have forgotten as you left a like in this post >here about the use of multiple calltip lines > 2 lines. The feature has been available since Scite 3.04.

Set calltip.*.use.escapes=1 in Scites properties file.

Use C like escapes in the calltip definitions i.e. n for new line, t for tab etc.

So a calltip definition would be like

DrawBox ( Left, Top, Width, Height, DrawOptions ) Draw a rectangle on the selected page.\n\t (may be required: #include "QuickPDF.au3")

and will popup a calltip when invoked as 3 lines.

Issue should be fixed in the current beta ... and: I am sure it indeed will never really stop as there are so many ways of coding and also the many extra options in the syntax since the last changes.

There is no issue with this as it is mostly cosmetic and with each change we get closer to perfection.

Understood and am wondering what options there are to fix this.

SCITE_USERHOME environment variable isn't set either for that user... Right?

That would mean it works in portable mode, meaning it will try to find the configfiles in the program directories, which that user can't update themselves.
