Developers Jos Posted March 21, 2014 Developers Share Posted March 21, 2014 Too much posts for me to read, but this is not a bug as stated. Au3check has no way to know whether or not the Variable will be defined before the line indicated in the Warning... hence the warning. Guest
Why don't you try writing another syntax checker? Because I'm not smart enough.I only said that you can code a way ..If I can be sure that $var always be declared before line 3 then probably possible to write way for Au3check.. I do not demand to fix the bug.I suggest to fix it. If you disagree then fine
Developers Jos Posted March 21, 2014 Developers Share Posted March 21, 2014 It's true. Just like any software. Au3check will have some way if you teach him (code a way..) No it will not and somehow you do not seem to want to understand this. Bottom line: It is not a bug and the current au3check will never understand the program flow to determine whether or not a variable is declared "below" the current line being evaluated. Further would appreciate you stop moaning about it and suggesting it can be changed, while you don't have a clue what the hell you are talking about. As you say. There is no point in arguing because it will give nothing and waste the time of everyone who reads this thread.I want to clarify - I'm not moaning. I appreciate the au3check tool and I am grateful to those who wrote it.I just wanted to give a proposal for improvement. I am fine with proposals, but when you are not open to the fact that au3check isn't able to detect what you are asking for, and you keep on persisting that it should be fixed, you are not contributing to anything other than frustration-levels with the folks that are trying to tell you something. Either accept the fact or develop something that can do a better job... you soon learn what it means to write a syntax checker. Jos PS: I am with the people that believe it is a bad coding style to define Global Variables in a Func. jchd
You clearly don't have the faintest clue about what you're writing about. I just wanted to give a proposal for improvement.
