What does this simple code actually checks.

If $var Then

    ....

$var is set to False in a global scope and it changes depending on some other stuff to True or False.

So does the "If $var Then" checks if the variable is True?

You can check this by using this example:

Check it is true or if has some string. I mean

I don't find this correct for a programming language.

So If Not $var will check the opposite of the value.

If $var = true or If $var = false seems better way to check for me. It is AutoIt after all

I think mLipok's way for programming is Perfect. If $var is a bool variable only has two state true or false. if is not one else is another one.

A variable is not always a bool. It can be wathever. The If statment is that looks somehow wierd to me.

Remember that AutoIt does not "type" its variables. Thus the following are considered "True":

True
"Any string"
Any number other then integer 0

while these are considered False:

False
"" ; An empty string
0  ; Integer 0

So the simple comparison "If $var Then" is perfectly valid syntax and will work without problem.

Obviously the OP doesn't know. It is hard to understand that compering it with one thing is faster than compering it with more than one. I guess i will achieve this level if someday i will become a dev.
