TimerInit ( ) how many times to use

Hello,

I have to ask, how many times TimerInit() can be initialized?

Lets think I have a subfunc in a script and the TimerInit() in that subfunc will be caled from time to time.

Will that timer be destroyed when subfunc returns to mainfunc?

If not how can I destroy it by script?

Yes, if the variable is local to the function.  Declare the variable in global scope before the function if you want the timer to persist.

If you are asking how to reset / stop the timer, use assignment.  E.G.

$timer1 = timerinit()  ; to re-start the timer
$timer1 = 0            ; to destroy the timer

To specifically destroy one or more timers, you can also use _Timer_KillTimer or _Timer_KillAllTimers. I don't know of any real limit to the number of timers you can initialize.

I thought TimerInit is just a timestamp of some kind and not something which leave a handle or other resource hanging around.

You could also declare it local static if you don't need to use the variable's contents outside of the function and want to keep the value intact after leaving the function and then going back into it.
