Hi Auto It team,

Greetings !!

I have used the auto it software in my lab. I would like to use the software in the enterprise. Hence would like to know if this software is a open source or closed source.

From the home page, I understand that this is a freeware.

(Any license purchase or any other formality etc)

Basically the scripts you create are your property, sell them, re-distribute them, do as you please really.

You can decompile your own scripts, the license text that mentions reverse engineering only applies to the AutoIt programs and not the compiled scripts it creates. It's plainly spelled out in the license in the help file that the product license specifically does not include the compiled scripts.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Correct, but if you post any decompiled code, or admit to decompiling a script on this forum, your time here will be very short.
