Does anyone know of a site that has examples of the different window styles?

$WS_BORDER
$WS_POPUP
$WS_CAPTION
$WS_DLGFRAME

$WS_SYSMENU
$WS_THICKFRAME
$DS_MODALFRAME

$WS_EX_CLIENTEDGE
$WS_EX_WINDOWEDGE

Now and again, I've used three or four of them, usually from example scripts.  But "like a box of chocolates", I'm never sure of what I'm going to get—especially when styles are combined—and sometimes I can't see a difference.  Each of them is "defined", of course, in the help file and on MSDN ... but the terminology, alone, presents a barrier to understanding:  modal frame?  client edge?  They're even difficult to look up.

Since "a picture is worth a thousand words", I thought I would ask.

Have you ever thought of, you know, trying them out yourself to see what they look like? Maybe that would have taken less time.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

On occasion, I've done just that.  But, what I'm hoping to find is more of a "here are some actual uses of the window style parameters".  In other words, uses that incorporate some "wisdom" of how they work together.  Maybe I should have posed my question differently.

AZJIO, that is a great help.  The ease of comparing styles ... plus the ability to use it to build up a library of styles that I use ... plus the ability to grab stings from the displayed text.  Wow.

My hat is off to you.

guinness, you have 15,000+ posts.  I have 536.  I will bow to your experienced opinion.

But for others who may follow in my footsteps, why not change the button from "Mark Solved" to "Best Answer"?  Then it will exactly match the indicator at the top and remove any confusion.

Just sayin'.
