Don't be so impatient, wait at least 24 hours before bumping. Also, look in the File  menu of SciTE for Encoding, should fix it.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Your source file encoding needs to support character set you wish to use. Just save as unicode (UTF8 / UCS16 etc), instead of Ansi. Then it will work.

The question is actually less related to AutoIT, as Scite (I guess that's what you mean by "AutoIT Editor") is independent from AutoIT. You can just as well use SciTE for other things, just like you can use Notepad for your AutoIT scripts.

You can set default encoding in SciTE btw...

I am just a hobby programmer, and nothing great to publish right now.

Any changes made to SciTE should be done to SciTEUser.Properties and not SciTEGlobal.properties, as the global file is overwritten on every new installation.

In SciTEUser.Properties add the property
