Are there any GPS api's for autoit ?

I do now.

That example is useless. It returns same coordinates as any other computer i tried it on, even one without GPS.

I tried this code before from 2 different locations connected to different networks BUT network should not matter since i get location from device rather then connected network (or so i hope this script is designed for even thou it fail)

Anybody else know any code that would pull off my laptop coordinates using build in GPS ?

I dont have any COM devices, so i assume its USB connected internally.

I would check this out. maybe it helps identifying the port on which it is installed on your computer..

and maybe investigate the possibility to do it via existing free sollutions like google's earth or maps (or something, I searched for freeware GPS windows software, if you're lucky one will already provide you with a com interface..

Simple GPS tested did not find any, so i assume its not COM port but internal USB.

I found lot of free windows programs for GPS data location etc, but every single one of them is looking for COM port.

Are you able to confirm that the GPS module is turned on, and that you have a clear view of the sky when you test it.Pherhaps you coud try some other appliction that uses GPS and look at the connection settings in that if it works.

Are you sure there's a GPS in the computer?  Looking at the specs on several sites for that model, Samsung ATIV Book 8, doesn't show any GPS listed for it. If you can't find it in Device Manager it might mean that there isn't one.

Honestly i have no clue what am sure off anymore.

When i had windows 8 installed on my laptop, i had app that would track my movement. I assumed and still do that i have GPS in my laptop, otherwise how would an app know exactly where i am at at any given time ?

I dont have smart phone or bluetooth activated or any connection to google with my phone or my laptop, so i dont know.

I tried to disable USB devices in my device manager, no luck, google map was still able to get my location but i am not sure if it gets my location from my device or from my isp.

I will try to install windows 8 and see if i can see any additional devices where windows 7 dont have and let you know.

What ever device it is, it works as GPS giving my physical location without internet as i drive in a car miles away from home and on a highway. I dont know anything other then GPS that can do that.

OK i tried Windows 8 and installed app called GPS Satellite.

It showed me wrong location miles away from where i am at and where i have never been.

I went outside hoping to pickup any sattalite signal but nothing changed. Perhaps i didnt go far enough from home.

So i assume that my idea that my laptop had GPS is false, but then how did the GPS Satellite tracked my exact location when i went to the store ?

EDIT:

I drove around the block and no GPS data was recorded.

I am clueless now.

Went back to windows 7.

Screw it. Too much effort for nothing.
