jefhal Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 is there any way to make it so that the computer will recognize .abc and it will open with notepad by default.how would i do this?Open up the Windows Explorer (Window Key + E). Then choose Tools>FolderOptions>FileTypes and make a new file type. Look at the existing file type for .txt files for an example. ...by the way, it's pronounced: "JIF"... Valuater Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 in programming skins for my *XPClean Menu* I just did this saved file as skin.xpc then, when I wanted opened skin.xpc I never registered it, however when the installer places the program on another computer, it recognizes that .xpc belongs to *XPClean Menu* this worked fine. however, you should try to understand how extentions are registered like jefhal explained 8)
