ripdad
This is a small, and not fully functional, local proxy server. It gives the basic ideas needed to filter web traffic to and from your browser. In order to use it, you must configure your browser to use a proxy. Most are located under Tools->Options->Network. The IP and Port are located at the top of this progams title bar. This script does not support HTTPS, certificates or uploading files. Final Release: December 13, 2013 Now Supports: 1) Cookies 2) Gzip (requires >ZLIB.au3 by ward) 3) Downloading of small files. (5 mb's or less) 4) Blacklist and Whitelist editor. ripdad
ctl - perhaps yourself and others, will join in with suggestions or code snippets, that might help with development. guinness - There is no such thing as magic numbers (only 0 thru 9). The exact same "value" is in the constant-slash-variable. I obtained these values straight from the AutoIt helpfile (v3.6). The fact that some people have issue using the hard-coded values instead of a constant-slash-variable with it's proper(?) given name is petty, in my opinion. Anyone who has tried to run a 5 year old script from the forum, understands why I hard-code those values. Yes, I do it on purpose! And for several good reasons! But ... you are welcome to strip those dirty rotten "magic numbers" from any of my scripts and put whatever you like in its place. Congrats on your promotion -- and thanks for your many contributions to AutoIt. "The mediocre teacher tells. The Good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. guinness
...understands why I hard-code those values.I don't, but don't wish to hijack this thread any futher. ripdad
Updated first post. I tested this script on a Win7 laptop earlier today. It seems to be stalling on both IE and FF. I may have to regroup on the WinHTTP object and go to something else. XP seems to have no trouble with it. "The mediocre teacher tells. The Good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. ripdad
Updated first post to v0.3b There are several new features to this update. One of which, is a DEFAULT setting in Firefox, and is called: "use system proxy settings" Just leave it there and you'll never have to worry about setting that proxy dialog again. It may work on Internet Explorer or any browser. I haven't tested it. So, if it won't work for your browser, then you will most likely have to comment the code in 2 places that deals with registry settings. I think, this is the last update. I now see the road ahead on this script -- and it's miles away. Can't expend the time on it right now. But, anyone can pick up and help develop it -- if you want. Good luck. ripdad
Updated first post to v0.4b I had a little time to work on this, and was able to debug and fix quirks that was driving me up a wall. Sometimes, with FF or IE, it would cause the browser to reset. Another problem was sending a response back to the browser, but the browser would close the socket before the data was sent -- and it usually would be the very last item to send. I have no idea why they do that. In any case, I believe I have both of those solved. "The mediocre teacher tells. The Good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. ripdad
Darn, I forgot to change the port back to 8080 in the last update. Please change it to this (near the top of the script): (only applies to v0.4b) Local $strIP = @IPAddress1 Local $nPort = 8080 Edited November 6, 2013 by ripdad "The mediocre teacher tells. ripdad
Updated first post to v0.5b This is the last update for this script. For those that might be interested in something similar to this in a browser pluggin, here is one I found for Firefox. And this one for No Scripts. "The mediocre teacher tells.
