Uppercase in part of string using RegEx

I can't find out how to convert a part of a string to uppercase.

 

p.e. 

$Clipboard = StringLower(ClipGet())

$U2 means in autohotkey that you convert the 2nd caption to Uppercase

 

Can anyone tell me how to do above Replacements in autoit?

It cannot be done dynamically as in autohotkey (using $U2 etc), isn't it?

There is (as far as I know) no equivalent to the $U# syntax in AutoIt,

But I am sure the SRE gurus (not me) can come up with something - stick around and see what happens.

However, I can't make it work.

The output is the same as the input.

With all three regex you gave

(and it takes a lot of time to return the string I noted, is that correct?).

I just copied above answer and tried it with the clipboard content and the string you gave.

There's a _StringTitleCase function in the newest beta version, doesn't work with Unicode very well, but it will capitalize the first character of every word.

It works fine.

I noted that it doesn't work with all ascii characters.

I tried to change it to:

$res = Execute('"' & StringRegExpReplace($sStr, '\b((?<!\-)[a-zà-ýœß])', '" & StringUpper("$1") &  "') & '"')

I thought it was the solution but it simply stepped over characters as èéàáùìò..

école ==> éCole

può ==> PuÒ

I thought that it was the solution but it doesn't work when there are quotes in the text.

This is a "test"

It returns an empty string.

Anyone knows why it doesn't accept quotes?

Have you looked at the _StringTitleCase function to see how it is done there. Instead of trying to do it all in one shot, it might take more work.

Quotes are a big trouble in regexes, often I manage this the ass-way by the use of 'Replaces'

Except that RegEx has the same problem that the _StringProper function does, it doesn't treat a single quote (apostrophe) correctly. Change your string to this and you'll see what I mean.

It remains manageable (I think so...) but becomes really tricky
