chriswaldeck Posted October 17, 2013 Share Posted October 17, 2013 I made this to monitor a windows title and to show a popup when it changes to a certain one. The problem is thatt it uses too much CPU power, around 90%. Does anybody have a suggestion how to do this in a better way please. #include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #include <WindowsConstants.au3> Local $SplashFlag = 0 While 1 If WinExists("[CLASS:AGENT_DESKTOP]") Then Local $title = WinGetTitle("[CLASS:AGENT_DESKTOP]", "") Select Case $title = "Not Ready - Cisco Agent Desktop" If $SplashFlag = 0 Then SplashTextOn("PhoneCheck", "CISCO AGENT NOT READY!", -1, 150, -1, -1, 32, "", 24) $SplashFlag = 1 EndIf Case $title = "Logout - Cisco Agent Desktop" If $SplashFlag = 0 Then SplashTextOn("PhoneCheck", "CISCO AGENT NOT READY!", -1, 150, -1, -1, 32, "", 24) $SplashFlag = 1 EndIf Case Else If $SplashFlag = 1 Then SplashOff() $SplashFlag = 0 EndIf EndSelect Else ShellExecute("C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\bin\agent.exe") WinWait("[CLASS:AGENT_DESKTOP]") EndIf WEnd Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Moderators Solution Melba23 Posted October 17, 2013 Moderators Solution Share Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) chriswaldeck,Add a Sleep(10) in the While...WEnd loop to give the CPU a chance to draw breath. You should always add a Sleep to any tight loop unless there is a GUIGetMsg/TrayGetMsg command in there - those 2 functions have a built-in pause. chriswaldeck Posted October 17, 2013 Author Share Posted October 17, 2013 chriswaldeck, Ass a Sleep(10) in the While...WEnd loop to give the CPU a chance to draw breath. You should always add a Sleep to any tight loop unless there is a GUIGetMsg/TrayGetMsg command in there - those 2 functions have a built-in pause. M23 I should have thought of that. Thank you it worked. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BrewManNH Posted October 17, 2013 Share Posted October 17, 2013 Ass a Sleep(10) in the While...WEnd loop to give the CPU a chance to draw breath. How does one ass a sleep exactly? If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Moderators Melba23 Posted October 17, 2013 Moderators Share Posted October 17, 2013 BrewManNH,It is an old English term for missing your well-deserved repose by driving to an airport a fair distance away to collect your better half and on the way back finding the motorway (interstate) blocked by an accident forcing you to take to small roads clogged by large HGVs (semis) which means you do not get to bed until 4AM after far to long behind the wheel But thanks for asking - after a postprandial "folding of the hands to sleep" I feel almost human again.
