Myicq
I would like to convert the >FIGlet tool to a small tool to make function headers. Basically the idea: Press function key within Scite Input window opens for string, turning it into a FIGlet media on a button press the string is passed to Scite, commented out But since most of this is simple, would it be possible to have a very simple example, maybe something like the below, to insert lines into Scite ? $s = inputbox("Enter string") ; ; in doubt about this one... _insert_text($s) func _insert_text($string) ;... endFunc I am just a hobby programmer, and nothing great to publish right now. Solution BrewManNH Posted September 27, 2013 Solution Share Posted September 27, 2013 The best way would be to do something like this. _SciTE_InsertText($sStringToInsert) Func _SciTE_InsertText($sString) Return _SciTE_Send_Command(0, WinGetHandle("DirectorExtension"), "insert:" & $sString) EndFunc ;==>_SciTE_InsertText Func _SciTE_Send_Command($hHandle, $hSciTE, $sString) Local $ilParam, $tData If StringStripWS($sString, 8) = "" Then Return SetError(2, 0, 0) ; String is blank. EndIf $sString = ":" & Dec(StringTrimLeft($hHandle, 2)) & ":" & $sString ConsoleWrite('@@ Debug(' & @ScriptLineNumber & ') : $sString = ' & $sString & @CRLF & '>Error code: ' & @error & @CRLF) ;### Debug Console $tData = DllStructCreate("char[" & StringLen($sString) + 1 & "]") ; wchar DllStructSetData($tData, 1, $sString) $ilParam = DllStructCreate("ptr;dword;ptr") ; ulong_ptr;dword;ptr DllStructSetData($ilParam, 1, 1) ; $ilParam, 1, 1 DllStructSetData($ilParam, 2, DllStructGetSize($tData)) DllStructSetData($ilParam, 3, DllStructGetPtr($tData)) _SendMessage($hSciTE, $WM_COPYDATA, $hHandle, DllStructGetPtr($ilParam)) Return Number(Not @error) EndFunc ;==>_SciTE_Send_Command This sends the text to the currently open tab in SciTE. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Myicq
Thanks for this May I suggest that someone with Wiki editor rights add something like this, for example to the section about adding utilities to SciTE Tools menu ? Btw: requires #include <WindowsConstants.au3> #include <SendMessage.au3> I am just a hobby programmer, and nothing great to publish right now. Myicq
Hmm I marked this solved, but apparently it only inserts the FIRST line in a multi-line field. I cannot find out why. Debug window: @@ Debug(150) : $sString = :0:insert:;~ ;~ ## #### ##### ;~ # # # # # ... It's only the characters in the line after ":insert:" that is inserted into SciTE. ClipPut($sStringMultiLine) works fine. I am just a hobby programmer, and nothing great to publish right now.

Taz77
So it is easier and the character must also be masked:Func _SciTE_InsertText($sString) $sString = StringReplace(StringReplace(StringReplace($sString, '\', '\\', 0, 2), @LF, "\n", 0, 2), @CR, "\r", 0, 2) Return _SciTE_Send_Command(0, WinGetHandle("DirectorExtension"), "insert:" & $sString) EndFunc Dropbox - Sign up and get an extra 500MB
