Does this script do what you want? 

Actually it does. I will need to modify it for the build scripts if that's OK?

 

Sorry, being nit picky.  The description for pragma states, "A special directive for controlling aspects of how the script runs."  It seems like it really only controls how the script is compiled instead.  Or am I wrong?

Return values of SetError() and SetExtended() should be docummented as undefined for cases when return value parameter is omitted. That's the whole thing and probably it's the most correct. Documenti

Actually, I was looking at replicating the highlighting we have in SciTE and replicating in Notepad++, well the functions, macros & keywords at least. The reason why is I am planning to add Notepad++ to the editors.

I will use the cpp.xml as an example, but if someone has an example related to AutoIt that would be brilliant. jaberwocky6669's is good, but it's missing macros and directives.

We need to change the <Running Scripts - AutoIt specific command Line Switches> section now that the default is that compiled scripts will not run other scripts unless compiled with the #pragma compile(AutoItExecuteAllowed, True) directive. :)

I suggest that we change the latter part of that section to read like this:

Run a single line of code:

AutoIt3.exe [/ErrorStdOut] /AutoIt3ExecuteLine "command line"
                Execute one line of code.

The command below will execute that single line of code and display the MsgBox with "Hello Word!". The tray icon will not be displayed. 

Run(@AutoItExe & ' /AutoIt3ExecuteLine "MsgBox(4096, ''Hello World!'', ''Hi!'')"')

Run a script or line using another compiled script:

Compiled.exe [/ErrorStdOut] [/AutoIt3ExecuteScript file] [params ...]
                Execute another AutoIt script file from a compiled AutoIt3 executable. 

Compiled.exe [/ErrorStdOut] /AutoIt3ExecuteLine "command line"
                Execute one line of code as with AutoIt3.exe above.

This means that other AutoIt scripts can be run without the need to have AutoIt3.exe on the machine, either preinstalled or added via FileInstall, as the interpreter stub of the compiled file will replace it.

However, the executable must have been compiled with the #pragma compile(AutoItExecuteAllowed, True) directive as the default setting does not permit use of the /AutoItExecuteScript or /AutoItExecuteLine parameters.  Moreover, since the interpreter stub searches for any required standard #include files in its current folder, UDF functions and various constants may not be available as those files are normally only found in the full AutoIt install. It is therefore recommended that any scripts intended to be run in this manner are compiled to the .a3x format rather then being left as plain .au3 text files.

It is related to the help file? Does it make sense to discuss?

1. If you enter a line break " _" and then presses Enter, the function is entered. That is not what you expected.

2. Whether the description of parameters is necessary there?

3. Try to use a frequently used design code. Instead of typing just the function name
