Wombat Posted August 9, 2013 Author Posted August 9, 2013 You mean when a new tab is open, you want your application to react? Just as when SciTE Jump resets it's content according to which tab you have focused in SciTE. So that if I open the tool while script1 is focused it shows the resource profile associated with script1, then upon clicking the tab containing script2 resets the Resource Managers content according to that script... I've been looking through the source code for SciTE jump, I'm certain the answer is in it Just look at us.Everything is backwards; everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health. Developers Jos Posted August 9, 2013 Developers Posted August 9, 2013 I'm pretty sure if you want to receive commands from SciTe then you have to register the GUI to receive WM_COPYDATA messages. Edit: Quick test tells me I might be wrong. You need to register WM_COPYDATA when requesting info from SciTE and need to register the Window handle for receiving general messages like when Files are opened or closed. guinness Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 The answer is there and it's nothing to do with WM_COPYDATA and SciTE, but instead WM_COPYDATA and ScITE Jump. I create a second process using Monitor.a3x which registers a WM_SHELLHOOK message to check for when windows close, open or redraw. When this is intercepted it checks the window handle to see if it matches SciTE and then the message type e.g. HSHELL_REDRAW. From there it sends a message to the main process SciTE Jump using WM_COPYDATA, to say "hey, redraw the treeview, SciTE changed and now the window title is different!" This has so far worked as using what Jos mentioned, doesn't work for when a user deletes a function and saves. The file is still the same. All in all, not an easy task for a beginner.
