As long as the exe is not compressed with upx, you can find the string "This is a compiled AutoIt script" within it using any hex editor. So Fileread and StringInStr should do the trick for you - but be careful about which mode you use to open the file, you will need to read it as binary. ;)

Another quick, self-contained way. From the shell, run:

Unknown.exe /AutoIt3ExecuteLine "MsgBox(0, 'Result', 'Probable AutoIt executable found.')"

Note that this will fail if ever the script is purposedly compiled with option #NoAutoIt3Execute OR give a false positive if the program is sneakily written to accept the same arguments while being coded in some other language. Both odds are IMHO fairly safe.

This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). An absolute must have in your bookmarks.

PCRE v8.33 regexp documentation latest available release and currently implemented in AutoIt beta.

SQLitespeed is another feature-rich premier SQLite manager (includes import/export). Well worth a try.
SQLite Expert (freeware Personal Edition or payware Pro version) is a very useful SQLite database manager.
An excellent eBook covering almost every aspect of SQLite3: a must-read for anyone doing serious work.
SQL tutorial (covers "generic" SQL, but most of it applies to SQLite as well)

Did that work?

 

with some compiled autoit exe it works, i do not knows if all executables compiled with autoit, ends wit that string ("AU3!EA06")

I have some exe, from 2007 with AU3!EA05 at the end so the value may not always be exactly the same.

When you look at AutoIt's compiled EXE file by Reshacker then you can see in VERSIONINFO section

PRODUCTVERSION 3,2,12,1
 

In BLOCK "StringFileInfo"

there is also

        VALUE "FileVersion", "3, 2, 12, 1"
        VALUE "CompiledScript", "AutoIt v3 Script : 3, 2, 12, 1"

but these are not present when #AutoIt3WrapperResxxx directives are used.

As far as I know PRODUCTVERSION 3,2,12,1 is present always.

Of course version is the version of AutoIt used by compiler.

The answer to Waters quesion i simple, curiosity. It would be cool to have compiled autoit scripts dial home just like Android does in order to see how spred the language is worldwide :)

If you really do want to do something that, at the very least make it an option that the user can opt IN if they agree. For goodness' sake do not make it automatic. :naughty:

No, it wouldn't be "cool", it would be annoying to have random programs start "phoning home" whenever they wanted to. Plus, how is what you wanted to find out going to achieve this lofty goal? Knowing a program was created by Autoit isn't going to make it phone home on it's own, you'd need to check every program on a computer and phone it in with something you created.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
