So maybe relative paths are the way to go, so long as all the includes reside on the same drive etc...

Ive just checked the help file and couldnt find any info on relative paths.

Know where I could get some :)

It helps to understand the basics of relative paths. For example look at _PathGetRelative in the help file if you need to automatically calculate a path.

Ok I actually had a few of these. Though my main question for the post is because of the .. does that then not affect position?

Like below I have ..desktop.

If I copied that script to my C drive would then I not get an error when running the script? As I presume ..desktop is like cd..?

It would break the includes if they didn't reside in the folder desktop. It's just trial and error and re-arranging your includes properly.

It would break the includes if they didn't reside in the folder desktop. It's just trial and error and re-arranging your includes properly.

ok Ive made progress and am happy with it just one thing.

Here is one of my small scripts that gets included into the main script.

#include <C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\Library\Error_log.au3> ;if I try a relative path here

Can you give an example of the relative path that gives an error? Can you post the error message as well?

What if you remove it but check the main script?

main script still runs but if I compile the small script I get the error. Tbh im fishy if i get an error even if its with one of the small sub scripts
