olo
Hey all, I have a T style GUI. As in tpanel, twordform etc. Now in my script it opens the program up then clicks on a button. How do I check if the clicking of the button was successful? I know it is successful because I see it but how to I check its success within the script? Thanks Some sample code: WinWait("[TITLE:Info]") ControlClick("[TITLE:Info]", "OK", "[CLASS:Button; INSTANCE:1]", "left", 1) Sleep(500) Edited May 14, 2013 by olo
jdelaney
I like linear error handling: $bcontinue = true $hwin = WinWait("[TITLE:Info]") If IsHWnd($hwin) Then ConsoleWrite("able to find window" & @CRLF) Else $bcontinue = false ConsoleWrite("UNable to find window"& @CRLF) EndIf If $bcontinue Then If ControlClick($hwin, "OK", "[CLASS:Button; INSTANCE:1]", "left", 1) Then ConsoleWrite("able to click button" & @CRLF) Else $bcontinue = false ConsoleWrite("UNable to click button"& @CRLF) EndIf EndIf ; expect window to close...added just to demonstrate another block of code If $bcontinue Then If WinWaitClose($hwin, "", 5) Then ConsoleWrite("able to close window from button click" & @CRLF) Else $bcontinue = false ConsoleWrite("UNable to close window from button click" & @CRLF) EndIf EndIf Edited May 14, 2013 by jdelaney olo 1 IEbyXPATH-Grab IE DOM objects by XPATH IEscriptRecord-Makings of an IE script recorder ExcelFromXML-Create Excel docs without excel installed GetAllWindowControls-Output all control data on a given window. BrewManNH
From reading the help file you should have seen this for ControlClick Return Value Success: Returns 1. Failure: Returns 0. olo 1 If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. olo
I basically want to store the info in a text file. But also want to have it in the way that if I get an error say that the button is un-clickable for example that the rest of the script stops executing. jdelaney
My sameple shows how to do that...use filewrite, or create your own logging function to output to file (rather than the consolewrite). You probably want to validate that the window state and control state are in a good state to allow interaction (enabled, visible, etc) WinGetState ControlCommand...options isvisible, isenabled Then, I would suggest creating functions to loop for those expected states for a the callers amount of time (example: 5 seconds should handle load times for most apps on most comps...if you want to handle for slower, up to longer max wait)...if not in the expected state, return false, else return true Edited May 14, 2013 by jdelaney olo 1 IEbyXPATH-Grab IE DOM objects by XPATH IEscriptRecord-Makings of an IE script recorder ExcelFromXML-Create Excel docs without excel installed GetAllWindowControls-Output all control data on a given window.
