_StringLoopRepeat is one of my older functions which I renamed. I didn't know about _StringRepeat when I wrote it. The original function was intended to be a sister function to _StringModulate. The idea was to modulate the string and select a number of characters. I didn't see the point of limiting it to the string length: so that's how it was born, and the reason it turned out the way it did.

That particular function replaces _StringModalSelect from my Modal UDF. I expect there will be a few possible optimizations in amongst this set, but getting them better organised and documented was my first priority. Thanks for your comment guinness. I will look at it: optimization is very important to me.

I instantly notice that $iChars = Default can be optimized: that's kind of funny. :)

In math10.au3 the duodecimal functions have been removed. Base 12 is now one of 15 bases supported by the new improved base conversion functions. The only real limitation affecting the accuracy of these new functions is the 15 decimal digit limitation imposed by AutoIt. This means the maximum accurate base 2 return value is the following 50 digit binary string.

The conversion is also twice the speed it was with the previous functions. :)

I have been thinking about this and I'm not sure if I will employ it or not. The maximum number of repeats I'm likely to use is 8, but mostly between 0.5 and 1.5. Although I haven't tested the differences I see the additional code kicks in at 50 repeats. I trust the author knows what he's doing (it's clever) and therefore don't see the advantage for myself. My function was intended as a quick way to grab a selection of musical notes from a string with no more than 12 characters. 50 octaves is way outside the human hearing range. However some of my string functions can be improved in other ways.
