jchd
Spiff59, You don't seem to be aware that SQLite doesn't require any installation step, doesn't use any registry setting, does not require an ADO (ODBC) driver. From this point of view portability is not an issue, and certainly not with an AutoIt application which will severely limit portability anyway. Why I don't hesitate to recommend using SQLite in such business application is because experience proves that needs will grow with business and time. The simplest back-office layer will demand more than a couple of flat files to fulfill daily business needs. That's why I don't see anything irrational in advising the use of an easy to use, Lite DB engine which comes as a standard include of AutoIt. I didn't say your post was entirely fallacious, just that what you wrote about SQLite (quoted in my previous post) was wrong on every point. I challenge the statements, not the author. I've no intention to call names on you or any other forum user and I don't have a track record doing so.
