Just by happenstance I learned you can use scite output window as though it were command prompt, for example try ipconfig.

Amount of times I've opened a cmd window when I already had scite open :(

Interesting. Most commands seem to work but it seems you are not allowed to change the current drive or directory, at least on my windows 7 Pro 64 I get '>Access is denied.'

When I do cd c:path, it seems to change, then when I dir it lists files in current tab script folder. no access denied though win 7 enterprise.

WARNING - you have to EXT out of the command CMD in the output window in order for you to be able to continue to use Scite

Funny this comes up after using SciTE for this long.

One option I use all the time too and never added to the standard setup is a shortcut Ctrl+E to start Explorer with the filename being edited selected:

#x 40 Open Explorer with file selected $(FilePath)

I was just thinking I'd like to have this feature the other day. It works very well.

I simply copied Jos's code into Options Menu / Global Options File. Under the # User defined key commands section.

and now I can open the explorer directly to my source without navigating.

My screams of having to locate a source folder area, again and again, are silenced forever.

If you use SciTE Jump, then right click on a function will allow you to open the script's directory too.
