Well the danger is this, if _ArrayCreate is removed in the next release there is no obligation to mention in the change-log*, it was mentioned over 4 years that it may be removed in a future release. Also you know first hand what it's like, someone is bound to post in the general section a question of this nature...

"Hey AutoIt is broken, why doesn't _ArrayCreate work any more in the new release, it did in the last release."

As I always say, what you do in your own code is your business, just try not to pass on bad habits to others though.

*Of course might be polite.

I would be a problem if the implementation wasn't available.. When you use an undocumented feature, you run a risk - the fix in this case is copying a few lines at the top of your script. It's also a question of magnitude, though.

If it was an internal feature, yes it would be a problem.

Sorry to add up here late.

It would be an even bigger problem if instead of removing said function, developpers decide to change its behavior or worst its mere semantics to suit another internal need.

Then you could have said function work silently a couple of months/years but discover way later that it didn't work the same as before, all of this silently. Could have potentially destroying effect.

So yes it's a danger especially since functions currently don't have file scoping.

This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). An absolute must have in your bookmarks.
Another excellent RegExp tutorial. Don't forget downloading your copy of up-to-date pcretest.exe and pcregrep.exe here

PCRE v8.33 regexp documentation latest available release and currently implemented in AutoIt beta.

SQLitespeed is another feature-rich premier SQLite manager (includes import/export). Well worth a try.
SQLite Expert (freeware Personal Edition or payware Pro version) is a very useful SQLite database manager.
An excellent eBook covering almost every aspect of SQLite3: a must-read for anyone doing serious work.
