Rexkix Posted January 13, 2013 Share Posted January 13, 2013 In SciTE, can one view a file while temporarily disabling edit functions? A lot of times I'll have files open for reading, but not for changes. This could be a UDF, a system library include file, or one of my own stable files. I just want to avoid making unintended changes accidentally. I do this kind of thing all the time in Emacs with its "toggle-read-only" function. Rexkix Posted January 14, 2013 Author Share Posted January 14, 2013 Thanks. Works as advertised, and appears to apply on a per-buffer basis. Sweet. Unfortunately there appears to be a tiny cosmetic bug. While the state of the flag is maintained on a per-buffer basis, when one switches from one buffer to another, the R/O option on the menu is always unchecked. If it was already R/O but the menu shows no checkbox, then selecting the option checks the option on the menu and keeps the buffer R/O. A second selection of the option unchecks the option on both the menu and in effect. I report this because I care, not because I'm complaining. I like what I see.
