BrewManNH
I think it has something to do with whether you use tabs or spaces in Scite. I tend to use spaces instead of Tabs myself. Also, if you click the button on the edit box in the upper left corner to toggle editing mode it will keep the formatting. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Moderators Melba23 Posted August 25, 2012 Moderators Share Posted August 25, 2012 kylomas,A couple of points:- 1. If you use WinSetState rather then GUISetState then the dummy control will work as you expect. I have no idea why and have asked the Devs to take a look - I will let you know if they find anything. - 2. Despite my earlier assertion that the GUIGetMsg and TrayGetMsg loop looked fine, more thought has made me see a possible problem. The way you have it there is a chance that you might miss a message from the GUI - imagine that there is a message in the queue from both the GUI and the tray (unlikely, but possible). You are reading both queues and then running through a single Select structure - this will only react to one of the Case statements. So if there is match to the tray message, the GUI message will never be actioned as the next pass re-reads both message queues and overwrites the unused GUI message. I think you would be better served by having 2 Select structures - one for each message queue. All clear? kylomas
M23, Thank you for your efforts! In my OP I had "case traymsg = 0". As you and BrewmanNH pointed out this was a problem. It turns out that it was my whole problem. I have since eliminated the dummy control completely. Autoit may be behaving as expected, perhaps the dev's have some thoughts on that. Excellent advice on the msg loops. I will be adding gui's later and will keep this in mind! Never having used the tray before I took this from some code I found on the forum, perhaps that author will read this and learn something also. kylomas Forum Rules Procedure for posting code "I like pigs. Moderators Melba23 Posted August 26, 2012 Moderators Share Posted August 26, 2012 kylomas,It appears that GUISetState is designed that way - there is apparently a note in the core code which says:// If the GUI is hidden then we don't want to trigger any messages because we may be modifiying things // via the script when hiddenSo now we know!
