JScript
That does not help at all, I think you misunderstood the question! Let me explain: I seek an alternative to this function:GUISwitch Switches the current window used for GUI functions. Return Value Success: Returns the handle of the previously current.Does not return what it promises, see an example: $hForm1 = GUICreate("Form1", 640, 480) GUISetState() $hForm2 = GUICreate("Form2", 320, 240) GUISetState() ; Success: Returns the handle of the previously current. $hGuiSwitch = GUISwitch($hForm2) MsgBox(4096, "Hwnds", "$hForm1: " & $hForm1 & @CRLF & _ "$hForm2: " & $hForm2 & @CRLF & @CRLF & _ "Not the same handle of the previous window ($hForm1)!" & @CRLF & _ "$hGuiSwitch: " & $hGuiSwitch) Regards, João Carlos. water
I think what UZE means is:Don't USE the Control Viewer but have a LOOK AT THE SOURCE CODE because this tools does something similar to what you need. If you point to a control id it gathers all data about the control and the window etc. and displays the results. BrewManNH
BTW, the GUISwitch command does exactly what it said in the help file, it returns the previously current window handle. Because you created Form2 second, it was the last "current" window, so no matter which window you switch to, Form2 will always be the last window in your script. If you change it to switch to Form1, then switch to Form2, you'll see that the handle returned is from Form1.
