[Solved] Problem with SciTE Abbreviation Manger

Hi every body!

There is a problem with SciTE abbreviation manager:

- It doesn't recognize the = caracter!

I mean:

- I open it, and i try to add some usefull abbreviations

- For simple ones (inc = #include <|.au3> ...) no problem

- But when i try to add one with the = char, all what come after the = is deleted!

- I tried to add the standard UDF header (; # INDEX # =============== .....), and the only part that have been saved is: ; # INDEX #

Some one got a fix for this???!

What does your actual abbreviation look like, the exact text would be helpful.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Here is my abbreviation

; #INDEX# =======================================================================================================================

It's the standard UDF header

When I save this abbreviation (i name it udfheader), in SciTE, I type udfheader (highlited in red) and I type the Space Bar => result

; #INDEX#

As I said, all what come after any = caracter is trimed.

And this is not only for user abbreviations, if I look at the standard AutoIt abbreviations using this tool, for example the abbreviation selfdelete, the abbreviation should look like this (just like in SciTE)

What is your EXACT abbreviation text, from start of the line to the end? Telling me what you WANT your abbreviation to look like is not going to tell me anything. I need to see what you're putting into the abbreviation file so that I can see why it's not working correctly, or to see if you've typed it in wrong or not.

I wrote that tool (as you can see from the <Help - About> menu and I can confirm the bug. ;)

SciTE uses an = character to separate the abbreviation and the expansion in the "au3UserAbbrev.properties" file and the tool is becoming confused by additional such characters within the expansion. It is not a difficult fix - please give us a while to get it into a new SciTEConfig. :)

That error means that the "$AutoIT3_Dir & 'SciTEPropertiesau3.properties" file is not being read - which is quite surprising as it is one of the main SciTE files. Does it exist on your system? ;)

It's not part of the UDFs, but I would personally try this version instead >>

I thought i should download this so i did.

I have SciTE4AutoIt3 portable not installed.

I put the new SciteConfig.exe in the old SciteConfig folder after deleted the older files.

For the moment i have the previous SciteConfig since i works ok.

That isn't a portable application, it's just a ZIP version instead of the installer, plus it saves settings in %APPDATA%. I suggest if you want a truly portable version you look in my signature.
