getting members from nested upon nested groups

Hmmm... the only time I've gotten a stack overflow was from the OS but it was because I had unintentionally created an open loop that never closed =( . May need to do some debugging.

$members = $doc.GetItemValue("Members")

only lists the direct members of the specified group? If not then the recursive approach needs to be changed or has to be dismissed as a whole.

Can you post the exact message? Is it created by AutoIt or the operating system?

yes it only lists members of the specified group. - thats what makes it difficult =/

Could you please insert

ConsoleWrite("Processing Group: " & $group_name & @CRLF)

at the top of function GetGroup_Members?

So we can see if we 1) always process the same group or 2) there is a loop in the group membership (A is member of B is member of A is member of B ...)

interesting... good call on the consolewrite water

it processes through the groups fine one - one line at a time.. then the last nested group is repeated several times thus producing the stack overflow

it looks like that group doesnt exist... hmm so wouldnt this take care of that?

its actually a mailin database not a group so maybe thats why it doesnt come back with an error?

maybe if i add under it if not array return?

with

If Not IsObj($doc) Then Return ""

Could you please replace the above line with

If @error or Not IsObj($doc) Then Return ""

Do you have access to the COM reference of Notes? I'm sure the doc object has properties to distinguish a group from a mailing database. Something like type or similar?

Property "Type" should give different results for a member or a mail database.

what about a loop after trying a few unsuccessful times?

when it gets to the mail in database member, the members array keeps outputting the previous member listing over and over..

so hard to capture even at that point...

How do you know it's a mailing database? Can this be checked by the script?

dont know how to tell if it is programatically.. so i guess counting the previous group is too dirty? =)

You could write all processed groups to a global array. When you find a new group check the array and if you find the group then don't process it again. But this will slow down the process significantly.
