BrewManNH
An easier check is to look at the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftOfficex.0CommonInstallRoot" where the x is the version number of the Office installation you're looking for, in the case of Office 2003, you would look at 11.0. This will tell you if it has ever been installed, then you can use the value contained in the Path key to tell you where it was installed. If that key doesn't exist, Office 2003 isn't installed on that machine.A simple If/Else/Endif, after checking for that key, would let your program skip whatever you are doing if it hasn't been installed. This key should be more reliable as it is always in the same place as long as Office has been installed on the computer.EDIT:Sorry, wrong version number posted previously for Office 2003, should have been 11.0, I had 8.0 Edited July 6, 2012 by BrewManNH If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. morrison0586
You are right and I will probably have to stick with the registry, I personally think is the best way to go about things anyways, I was getting a stray away mentality when I brought the registry key up. First instinct was to go to the uninstall but I have to agree on the 11.0 being the best best thanks for your help.
