I have 2 input boxes and no matter which box I move first the entire text is being selected on creation and I would like to prevent it.

; Search for record #.
Global $inpFindRec =  GUICtrlCreateInput("Record#", 406,10, 75, 21) ; Label record # to search for.
GUICtrlSetColor($inpFindRec, 0xCACACA)
Global $hImgFindRec = GUICtrlCreatePic(@ScriptDir & '\Images\FindUp.bmp', 481, 10, 26, 21) ; Image search record #.
; Search for record data.
Global $inpSearchRec =  GUICtrlCreateInput("Search", 510,10, 127, 21)
GUICtrlSetColor($inpSearchRec, 0xCACACA)
Global $hImgSearchRec = GUICtrlCreatePic(@ScriptDir & '\Images\SearchUp.bmp', 637, 10, 26, 21) ; Image search record #.

rdwray,

This is default Windows behaviour for input controls and nothing to do with AutoIt. :oops:

I usually do something like this:

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$cInput_1 = GUICtrlCreateInput("One", 10, 10, 200, 20)
$cInput_2 = GUICtrlCreateInput("Two", 10, 40, 200, 20)
$cInput_3 = GUICtrlCreateInput("Three", 10, 70, 200, 20)

GUISetState()

; Send the cursor to the end of the text
ControlSend($hGUI, "", $cInput_1, "{END}")

While 1
    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
    EndSwitch
WEnd

You can subclass the inputs to prevent this behaviour completely, but that might be a bit advanced. If the above serves, it is far easier. :bye:

M23, appreciate the suggestion. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't any thing I was creating, I will move the focus to another empty box and bypass the issue - the selection needs to be in another place at start up anyway.
