iNetGet Fails

I am at the first step of making my new script for work and seem to have an issue. I am trying to use inetget to download a .com file from a sever and then save it to the desktop. It just doesn't seem to find the file. The code seems right, but it just doesnt download it. Please let me know if you can see an error or why it doesn't work.

I missed the point about you being on a corporate network. I would advise to do a little bit more digging in the forum, as I did a quick search and found some threads about the problem, but don't know if they would provide a solution for you. Have you tried looking at the IE functions?

As JohnOne brought out, this could be a permissions or firewall issue. I hate to assume anything, so are you able to successfully browse to the website and download the file manually?

JohnOne, wget is a third party tool, although it has been discussed in the forum a couple of times:

I agree with you though, I think there is an issue not letting Autoit through. BryanVest, if you would like to go with an AutoIT solution rather than calling wget, I would suggest using a test VM on your domain and (if you have access to do so) disabling the firewall for testing.

I found this post whilst trying to find what the various iNetGet @error and @extended codes mean. See the end for a simple look-up function that returns a text description based on iNetGet()'s @extended code.

NB I found that an incorrect username or password both return (@error 21 and) @extended 12014; according to Microsoft (see link below), an incorrect username should return 12013.

Tip: when testing iNetGet(), ensure the source / download file is not empty (0-byte). iNetGet returns a non-0 @error code (and @extended=0) when downloading an empty file. During testing, I've seen:

@error=13 when the d/l fails (e.g. bad username / passwd)

@error=33 when the d/l succeeds - in addition, the 'success?' test, InetGetInfo(handle, 3), returns 'False' if the host file is 0 bytes, even though it has downloaded.
