How to add a UDF to Auto It?

 Share

Recommended Posts

I just downloaded the file from the WinAPIEx thread in example scripts, and it is working fine for me. The function __Ver() is most definitely in the au3 file. If it's not in the version you have, then you have a corrupted version of the file.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

mikejp56,

If you are still trying to get this to work then reply to this post and I will explain the various steps in excruciating detail as you go through them. :D

However, first I want you to uninstall any versions of AutoIt and SciTE4AutoIt3 that you might have on your machine and to make sure that the "C:\Program Files\AutoIt3" folder is empty.

Then I want you to download the offical packages from:

AutoIt: here - use the "Download AutoIt v3" button.

SciTE: here - use the SciTE4AutoIt3.exe link.

WinAPIEx.au3: here - use the WinAPIEx_3.5.zip link at the bottom of the first post.

and put them on your desktop. - do not run them.

Finally, create a folder in which to store your downloaded UDFs - as explained earlier this should be outside the folder in which you intend to install AutoIt. If your imagination fails you, I suggest you create a folder on your desktop called "Downloaded Includes". :rip:

Let me know when you have done all the above and we will begin the process. :oops:

Irrelevant. Only the first error actually mean anything, after that you never know what au3check stops for, is it really an error or is it a side-effect from the earlier error?

C:\Program Files\AutoIt3\Include\WinAPIEx.au3(30510,9) : ERROR: syntax error

Static $pProc

~~~~~~~^
Is the only thing we know for sure, and I'm guessing that's because he have an old version that doesn't support Static.
Hi M23 and Admiral,
So last night I went to sleep at 11:30 with this hanging over my head. On my way home from work I realized that I had a spare PC with a fresh install of Windows XP SP3 on it. I downloaded and installed fresh copies of Auto It and Scite4AutoIt3. And they freaking worked!
So I went back to my main PC and downloaded fresh copies of Scite4AutoIt3 and AutoIt3. I installed both and they work. So I must have had a configuration problem with my original setup.
I have been using Auto It for about 2 years along with nLite to do silent installs, so regardless of this thread, I am no dummy.
Thanks for the help.
Mike
To Those Involved ( you know who you are),
Next time, instead of criticizing someone, maybe you should try to legitimately help them.
Belittling only fosters bad feelings, and doesn't help anyone in the forum.
There was no reason for threatening to ban me from the forum; I wasn't abusive as you were.
Mike
