The 'title' goes where the 'title' is in the function and then for controlid use the class & instance e.g. [CLASS:Internet Explorer_Server; INSTANCE:1]. I would suggest having a look at Controls in the Help file.

So it would be

Is that right?

No, did you check the function syntax in SciTE? Hint: Brackets.

I would highly recommend reading the help file a little more because how you're structuring the syntax is wrong & have you run the code above? Do you use SciTE? Au3Check? Because these will help you to debug the code.

Yeah, you're right, I just read the syntax over again and I figured some stuff out and I actually just started using SciTE. I used to just use notepad++ =P

Um, i just ran this

ControlClick("WindowLawl", "", "[CLASS:Internet Explorer_Server; INSTANCE:1]", "left", 1, 430, 424)

and it didnt click anything at all

EDIT:

UGH, it doesn't click it

   MsgBox(4096, "Test", "This box will time out in 10 seconds", 10)
     endif

and i know it just doesnt click it because the elseif @error then part doesn't occur

I wouldn't set the coordinates. What does this do for you?

$hHandle = WinGetHandle("WindowLawl")
MsgBox(64, "Window Handle", 'WinGetHandle("' & $hHandle & '")')
ControlClick($hHandle, "", "[CLASS:Internet Explorer_Server; INSTANCE:1]")

Also I would really suggest you continue with SciTE.

When I do that, The msgbox says

WinGetHandle("0x00000000002C0282")

As you can see from this Example you don't necessarily need the coordinates if you have the ControlID and Window Handle.

Where did PixelSearch come from? I also didn't know that Internet Explorer_Server was IE, I thought IE had a different class name, shows how much I automate with IE in AutoIt. Look at IE.au3 as JohnOne said.

What kind of control are you targeting? Is it a dropdown menu? A button? Where is it located? What do you have to do to get to that control? Is it part of the browser interface or is it a control on a website?

If it really is internet explorer, (WindowLawl / Lawltext ....), you can tell us what you're trying to target in the UI, or give us the web link to get to the control you want to target and we can look at it.

Keep in mind that some individual controls don't return classes/etc. For example Thunderbird's drop down menus don't have classes, and there isn't a way to perform a controlclick on the menu items.
