I'm currently looking for a clear way to find a unicode string within a file (using Api calls). During the research I stumbled over this

type uc-test.txt | findstr "Another"

and remembered this post :).

Hi guiness,
 
  I wanted to practice at GUI's so I built this little front end for this kewl@ss script.

  • As is, only searches for *.au3's
  • Search button is tied to ENTER key
  • Ability to change search folder
  • Selected file can be sent to SciTE ( still buggy - opens an additional tab for some reason - tried at least 30 different things )

I'm still new at this so it is probably no biggy for anybody but me, that's why I put it here and not in example scripts. That and the fact that its your search engine  o:)

More than a little over my head unfortunately, but thanks very much for the offer.

I have been looking around for something in the snippet browser direction maybe with drag and drop capabilities..

csnippet didn't really work, >this looked cool but crashed with errors.

I'm surprised it isn't already a integral part of Scite.

Hi,

Is there any way to search for this string "/KR" ? 

i have tried editing via 

$aArray = _FindInFile('/KR', @ScriptDir, '*.txt') ; Search for '/KR' within the @ScripDir and only in .txt files.

but it seems that the code won't reads it.

​yes, the .txt files contain /KR.

In fact, I have multiple .txt files whereby I wish to filter out txt files with strings like .../KR or .../MM.

I think i have the solution now, we need to put [/] instead of / only.

Local $aArray = _FindInFile("[/]KR", @ScriptDir, '*.txt')

May I know what's the difference between [] & {} ? Cos it seems that if I use {/}KR instead the code wont' work again.
