Hello,

will you update with the new modifs made on Getcommonstartuts and SmartData?

Why don't add a progress bar (in viewer) during the reading of the sysinfolog file?

Posted

hi ricky03,

I'll update it soon. Need some time to rest my eyes before I start on it.

I have done one thing to it already; rewrote _Array_RemoveDuplicates(). It is now blazing fast.

I don't know what I was thinking on that function when I first wrote it. Evidently, I over-thought it.

I was unaware that the viewer needed a progress bar. Can you give an explanation where?

That is nice, but all I see on the PC's, that I have tested it on, is just a blip for most windows.

The only window that has some time to display the percentage for me was "Registry Settings".

Any time delay in the viewer, is due to the loading of the icons.

Several versions back, I removed the loading of icons for Dll's, because it took too long to load them all.

Are you experiencing a long delay between windows?

It depends the size of the informations and the usage of the CPU. Sometimes it's long time. For me this option as 2 benefits, first you can see if your program didn't crash and in how many time (%) it's finished!

Of course, it's my opinion!

Okay, I'll put in the next update. Thanks.

Hello,

I'm testing your script in a windows 8.1 x64 (tested on a fresh install) and I have a problem with the function _startservice

"WMI Service Error: 6 - WMI Service not available. Information will be limited."

Could you help me?

Thanks

I haven't tested any of my scripts on Win8 -- it's on the todo list.

You could comment the test - then set $nWMI to 1, and see if WMI will work.

Line 46, on my copy:

; SIL_TestWMI()

$nWMI = 1

It appears to be okay after some modifications.

I'll update SIL and GCS in a few days.

Hello,

thanks a lot for the update. Very nice.

It seems working in a 8.1, but you need to update SIL_TestOS to accept the 8.1. Log attached (tested in a VM)

In the viewer, why not add a menu to open another log file if needed?

Edit : in the VM the function [HD_SMART_DATA] crash :

Object Error - Line:-1(0x80020009) Not supported  Exception occurred.

you need to update SIL_TestOS to accept the 8.1.

I tested on Win8.0 -- I have not seen a Win8.1 OS, yet.

In our location, we are always about 2-3 years behind current trends.

It's always been that way. Things are slower here.

I don't trust VM's, when it comes to this kind of code debugging.

Next update.

Hello, thanks for your reply.

Windows 8.1 is the Windows 8 with the SP1.

Normaly I attached the file. You need it? If yes, I will add it tomorrow.

When will the next update? :-)

re: [HD_SMART_DATA] crash.

Is that an Autoit crash, a hard crash, or just an object error?

---

According to the current beta help file, @OSVersion returns WIN_81.

No need to attach file.

Will update soon.
