c.haslam
For other controls, I can specify some WS_EX constants in the GuiCtrlCreate*() exStyles parameter. For ListView, the Help suggests that both WS_EX and LVS_EX constants can be used in the exStyles parameter. But some WS_EX and LVS_EX constants have the same value, e.g. WS_EX_WINDOWEDGE and LVS_EX_FLATSB, so which does GuiCreateListView recognize? MSDN says, for most controls, "call SetWindowLong" to set exStyles. But for ListView, it says "Use the LVS_SETEXTENDEDLISTVIEWSTYLE" to set extended ListView styles. Am I correct in thinking that GuiCtrlSendMsg(-1,LVS_SETEXTENDEDLISTVIEWSTYLE, exStyles, exStyles) should be called to set LVS_EX styles, not the exStyles parameter of GuiCtrlCreateListView() ? I am working on making the control styles in Koda more easily understandable. The part I am working on now is native ListView, not the UDF. So replies that deal with the UDFs will not be particularly helpful. Moderators Melba23 Posted July 13, 2011 Moderators Share Posted July 13, 2011 c.haslam,I have always found that applying $LVS_EX_* extended styles to a ListView requires the _GUICtrlListView_SetExtendedListViewStyle UDF command - regardless of whether the ListView is a native or UDF created control. Any extended styles set in the creation function line are treated as the numerically equivalent $WS_EX_* extended styles. So your suggestion of GuiCtrlSendMsg(-1,LVS_SETEXTENDEDLISTVIEWSTYLE, exStyles, exStyles) seems quite logical. I believe you can set the final exStyles parameter to 0 which then forces the allocation of the first extended styles parameter whcih woudl hold all the required values. I hope that helps. c.haslam
Yes, it does help.I have recently learnt that GuiCtrlSendMsg(-1,LVS_SETEXTENDEDLISTVIEWSTYLE, exStyles, exStyles) does the same thing as _GUICtrlListView_SetExtendedListViewStyle(-1,exStyles).
