Hi All,

I have a script which will check the installed application details of the complete build.after the check process completes i will be prompting the user with an option for sending an email. for that i am using"_outlook.au3" - _outlooksendmail() funtion. i am getting an "AutoIt Error" message stating - "Line 9299 Error(script location\GD_coreapps_new.exe): Error in Expression".

can some one help me on this?

Note:

i have only 1700 lines of code. But the error message shows Line 9299?

Thank you,Regards,K.Syed Ibrahim.

When you compile your script then all includes will be added to the exe and of course the lines are different afterwards.

You can use

#AutoIt3Wrapper_Run_Obfuscator=y
#Obfuscator_Parameters=/sf /sv /om /cs=0 /cn=0 /cf=0 /cv=0

and check the obfuscated code for that particular line.

Maybe it is working to get the faulty line that way.

Hi Syed23,

if you include other au3 (e.g. _outlook.au3) files, the lines of code will increase as well.

Run the script as a non-compiled au3 file to find the line of code in your au3 that throws the error.

:)

Hi Syed32,

it would help us, if we saw the line with the error and maybe what's related.

Call("Clear")

EndFunc

Well I've no possibility to test this on Win7 but on 2008 and XP the first line runs just well.

Do you have a function called "Clear"? Is Call() casesensitive? :)

I tested that snippet of code on my Win7 computer and it executes without any errors. The error message you posted though has nothing to do with this piece of code as far as I can see.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Syed23,

Can you run your code from SciTE? That way you get a better indication of where the error is to be found. :)

I am unable to test this code as I am not in the same environment as you and I don't have the Excel or Outlook UDFs. I can tell you this though, you need to move all of your functions to the bottom of the script if you ever hope to be able to debug this code yourself. Right now you have functions all over the place, and other pieces of code mixed in between them, how can you ever figure out what's going on? Programs should ideally execute from the top down with the functions used to execute things that are used repeatedly. The code right now is a big bowl of spaghetti. Plus you are mixing Dim and Global declarations, please avoid using Dim as it can cause issues if used incorrectly.

The first thing I would do, after cleaning up the code, is to run it in SciTE rather than compiling it and then running it. Scite can tell you exactly where the problem in your code is occurring, trying to debug a script only after it's been compiled is going to be very frustrating.
