JCarson Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) My $0.02. I am currently using a conglomeration of OutlookEX and the Outlook UDFs. I do find this UDF useful, even to the extent of possibly assisting to improve it / add features. Admittedly, right now, I'm using it as a glorified Rules script, but it is still helpful. Thanks again, Carson Edited May 4, 2011 by JCarson

supersonic Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 (edited) Hi water, I would like to see functions to manipulate OOO messages! Maybe they would work much better than mine... (Currently I'm using AU3 + PowerShell.) What I'm looking for: - Switch OOO message on/off. - Change OOO message text. - Manipulate OOO messages for/of other users. - List which users currently have their OOO on (incl. mail redirection). I know, it's only a wish list... Greets, -supersonic. Edited June 17, 2011 by supersonic
water Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 Hi supersonic, I'm going to put it on my ToDo list. Some more investigation is needed because I've got the impression that it isn't possible to query OOO using the COM interface (but I'm not 100% sure). And before I spend more time I wanted to be sure that the functions are needed at all. Could you please post what you have so far? Maybe it points me into the right direction ... Hi supersonic, here is what I have so far (Edit: please check post ). This should solve issues 1 and 2. Could you please test the function and report the results? The example code sets the text and activates the OOO reply. The OOO message is simply a hidden message in the Inbox of a user. If you have write access to the mailbox of a user it should be easy to change the function accordingly and solve issue 3 (Edit: I now have a version that allows to change the OOO of another user).Issue 4 is a bit more complex. At the moment I don't know how to list those users. This information is stored on the exchange server and therefore should be queried by accessing the exchange server (or active directory if possible). Because you want to get this information even if the user has powered off his PC and went on vacation, right? supersonic Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 (edited) Hi water, sorry for replying so late... Thank you for your work; the new function works pretty well. The only thing is that I get the following error: WARNING: $olPrimaryExchangeMailbox: possibly used before declaration. (For the test I removed the If-condition...) Can you give me a clue how to change the OOO for an other user (issue 3), please? I have an user account which has access to all others' mail boxes... Is there a special syntax? You asked what I have so far... Due to the fact that my script is very ugly and it reverts to PowerShell it will not be helpful. water Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 (edited) Hi supersonic,The only thing is that I get the following error: WARNING: $olPrimaryExchangeMailbox: possibly used before declaration. That's a definition that's in the new OutlookEX.au3Can you give me a clue how to change the OOO for an other user (issue 3), please? I have an user account which has access to all others' mail boxes... Is there a special syntax?I will have to change the _OL_OOOSet function a bit. You will have to pass the name of the mailbox to the function. I will post what I have ASAP.Edit: What's still missing are the extended functions if you are connected to a Exchange 2010 server (define start and end time of the OOO, set internal/external OOO).A very good resource (german) is this site.GreetingsWater Edited June 27, 2011 by water My UDFs and Tutorials: Spoiler UDFs: Active Directory (NEW 2024-07-28 - Version 1.6.3.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - Wiki ExcelChart (2017-07-21 - Version 0.4.0.1) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts OutlookEX (2021-11-16 - Version 1.7.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - Wiki OutlookEX_GUI (2021-04-13 - Version 1.4.0.0) - Download Outlook Tools (2019-07-22 - Version 0.6.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Wiki PowerPoint (2021-08-31 - Version 1.5.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - Wiki Task Scheduler (2022-07-28 - Version 1.6.0.1) - Download - General Help & Support - Wiki Standard UDFs: Excel - Example Scripts - Wiki Word - Wiki Tutorials: ADO - Wiki WebDriver - Wiki
water Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 Yes, I'm interested in manipulating Outlook rules, e. g. OOO -> mail redirection.Hi supersonic,I will create a function that lists all rules with the corresponding action and exception functions. If this works well functions to add / modify rules will be added. But keep in mind that the OutlookEX UDF offers functionality from the users point of view. To query/change anything you need write read/write access to the users mailbox if the user isn't logged on due to vacation etc. My UDFs and Tutorials: Spoiler UDFs: Active Directory (NEW 2024-07-28 - Version 1.6.3.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - Wiki ExcelChart (2017-07-21 - Version 0.4.0.1) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts OutlookEX (2021-11-16 - Version 1.7.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - Wiki OutlookEX_GUI (2021-04-13 - Version 1.4.0.0) - Download Outlook Tools (2019-07-22 - Version 0.6.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Wiki PowerPoint (2021-08-31 - Version 1.5.0.0) - Download - General Help & Support - Example Scripts - Wiki Task Scheduler (2022-07-28 - Version 1.6.0.1) - Download - General Help & Support - Wiki Standard UDFs: Excel - Example Scripts - Wiki Word - Wiki Tutorials: ADO - Wiki WebDriver - Wiki
benched42 Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I'm having a problem with the OutlookEX UDF. My corporate antivirus is interpreting the OutlookEX.au3 file as a virus. I have tried changing names within the archive but each time I extract the one file that makes this entire UDF work, the file (renamed or not) is automatically quarantined and deleted by my antivirus. I'm using ESET NOD32 Antivirus v4 with virus signature database 6248 (20110628) on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I can't temporarily disable the antivirus because it's password protected by our Corporate IT Security team. Any thoughts/suggestions? Who lied and told you life would EVER be fair?
water Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 (edited) If I understand you correctly as soon as you try to unzip the OutlookEX.au3 file it is quarantined? Do you get any additional information why the file was quarantined? What does your virus scanner think it found (a virus, a worm, a trojan ... what's its name?) Usually a compiled script gives a false positive but not a simple text file.
