Hi to all, how you know autoit .exe can be decrypted...the .exe obfuscator included in this autoit version, don't work...I can simply know the source from the .exe. Now in my script i've important password...how i can protect them?

Not sure what you tried to say here, but the bottom line is: You cannot protect your script and included passwords!

Add to the top of your Script to Obfuscate your code, this isn't going to protect it but it will make it a little harder to understand. There are more discussions about this topic in the Chat section too.

Obfuscator works extremely well - and we are very grateful to Jos for having coded it. :P

Searching the forums (because this gets asked about every 2 days :) ) will provide you with a lot more information in greater detail, but in brief:

Compiling an AutoIt script will prevent quick snooping, but a determined, experienced hacker can relatively easily get your source - including passwords, specific filenames, etc - or the encryption routines you have used in your script to encrypt/decrypt them if they are stored in another file. The same is true of every encrypted app - all you can do is make it uneconomic (in time or effort) for someone to crack.

So do NOT put "important password" in your script - simples! :)

But with the decompiler i have grabbed the source.

Is there no way to make it difficult to extract the source?

I don't know if was my fault but with my decompiler i can just simple know the source code from an .exe, in ~ 1 minutes.

If you have to crypt a text, with for example _StringEncrypt how you can't inserct the password in the source?

Answer(s):

1. There is no sure fire way to protect your script from prying eyes.

2. There is no real way to protect your script without breaking autoit's eula.

3. You've already broken the forums rules.

4. You've been warned.

5. Do it again, and you're gone.

Common sense plays a role in the basics of understanding AutoIt... If you're lacking in that, do us all a favor, and step away from the computer.
